Chaps for Charity

Riding for a Reason – raising funds for MDA!

A handful of dedicated firefighters decided that they wanted to make a difference and do something different in support of their chosen charity – the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA); so they decided to host a charity poker ride to raise funds. They teamed up with Powder Keg Harley-Davidson and hosted the First Annual Chaps for Charity Ride on September 15th. With the support of Premier Health, the group led a ride and then came back to Powder Keg Harley-Davidson for live music and a silent auction.

As with any first year event, they had their challenges – but in the end it all worked out and over $10,000 was raised to help the MDA and those they serve with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and other related diseases.

The Clearcreek Professional Firefighters of Local 4207 showed their immense dedication and care for MDA’s families during this year’s Chaps for Charity motorcycle ride. This first annual ride was a tremendous success and we are grateful for the generosity of not only the firefighters, but also to the riders, PowderKeg Harley-Davidson and all those who came out to support the event. They all have helped individuals right here in the Greater Cincinnati area with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases truly live unlimited. – Jennie King, MDA Regional Manager for Firefighter Partnerships

As luck would have it, Thunder Roads Ohio was hosting our 2nd Annual TRO Powder Keg H-D Bike Show that same day and we were able to see first hand the effort of the Chaps for Charity volunteers and their supporters. Looking towards 2019, Thunder Roads Ohio is proud to join the ClearCreek Professional Firefighters of Local 4207 to support MDA with the 2nd Annual Chaps for Charity Ride to take place on Saturday, August 25, 2019.
